About Me

About this Weblog
This blog was created as a companion to my main website, Mythosa.net. Periodically I like to write about issues related to the gaming hobby, and it seemed more appropriate to put such things in a weblog than on the regular website. Mythosa.net is for my homebrew campaign world, TableSmith, and other assorted gaming aids. This weblog is for pretty much everything else.

About Me
I'm not really one to talk about myself, but it's recommended to have a brief bio accompany your weblog, so I figured I'd put one together. I'm Bruce Gulke, a resident of the Chicago area. Professionally, I've been involved in IT and software development for over 12 years. Personally, my biggest hobby is games. While I mainly play tabletop RPGs, I enjoy a variety of other types of games as well: strategy and board games, miniatures games, computer and console games, and MMORPGs. I also enjoy a lot of the other typical geek stuff: sci-fi and horror TV/movies, some comics, fantasy novels, etc. Not a big fan of superheroes or anime, though, and never got into Harry Potter.

I've been gaming for over 20 years now, having started with the D&D Basic Set with the Erol Otus cover. Over the years I've played through that, the three and a half editions of AD&D, and a variety of other RPGs including Rolemaster, Call of Cthulhu, Warhammer FRP, Traveler, and others. My name shows up in the credits of a few published works, though I'm probably best known for TableSmith, a Windows-based generator tool. This blog and Mythosa.net are mainly a creative outlet as well as a way for me to share some of the cool things I've found on the Web with fellow geeks.

If you want to contact me, I can be reached via my mythosa.net account ("akira") or at my GMail account, with the name "brucegulke".
