In the Temple of Orcus, Part II

Summary
Can Splug, Delfar, and Veshanna summon the strength - and perhaps the luck - to finally stop him?

Unfortunately, no.

While Torinn miraculously recovered and rose to face Kalarel, the evil priest smote him back to the ground. At the same time, Saeras was pulled by the dark tendrils into the Shadowfell, though it is likely he was dead before that.

Splug fought on, making Baltur proud, but he was quickly laid low by the skeleton warrior. Veshanna and Delfar did what they could but the eladrin lass's meager fortitude was no match for Kalarel's evil rod; she collapsed into the pool of blood at her feet.

Seeing that all of his comrades were down and lacking any further effective prayers to fight with, Delfar sought to flee by climbing the chains dangling from the upper level. The priest and the skeleton put an end to that, and the cleric breathed his last.

Will the ritual succeed, or were the PCs able to disrupt it, at least long enough to allow another group of heroes to finish what they began? Word around Winterhaven tells of new visitors, including a Dhazyra, a paladin of Baltur, a half-elven ranger, and two others whose descriptions are currently vague but will likely become more known over time. Will they come to the aid of the village? Will they stand against the scion of Orcus and defeat the evil of the Keep on the Shadowfell?
