Into the Depths of Shadowfell Keep

Summary
After a short, uneventful journey, the PCs arrived at the ruins of Shadowfell Keep. A quick search of the ruins revealed a single entrance into the halls beneath the keep - a large trapdoor with stairs leading into the ground. The party's search also revealed that the entrance was in use...

Venturing down the aged stairs, the party came upon a torch-lit set of chambers occupied by goblins and guard drakes. Two rather bloody battles ensued, but despite Saeras and Torinn taking a beating and Veshanna nearly falling into a pit of rats, the heroes were victorious and slew the goblins and their reptilian companions.

After dispatching the goblins, the PCs passed through a small tunnel into a natural cavern network. They came upon a door among the caves, with a message scrawled upon it to stay out. Naturally, the party opened the door and into the room beyond. The cave they entered with partially filled with deep water and, as they soon discovered, was home to an acid-spewing, blue slime. After an arduous battle that taxed their resources, the PCs finally defeated the creature.

On an island in the water they found a small collection of treasure - likely the remains of previous travelers not skilled or lucky. Besides some meaningful treasure, the heroes found two scrolls - one seemingly identifying the origin of the slime and the other a proposal to Kalarel from the chief of a group known as the "Bloodreavers".

For now, the PCs are resting. Soon, they will venture forth again into the depths of the keep, armed with newly found magic as well as skills learned only through their hard-won experience. But will it be enough to stop Kalarel and the cult of Orcus...?
