''Location:'' Roughly 6 1/2 miles southwest of [[Hartshire]]\n\nGiltburgh's Lair was a small ruined outpost occupied by a group of bandits who used to prey upon travellers on the road between [[Hartshire]] and [[Ilmara]].\n\nCurrently unoccupied.
For years after its founding, [[Ilmara]] maintained a graveyard outside of the city walls. However, a number of incidents over time (including a major attack on the city by an Undead army in 495 AR) prompted city officials to move their cemetary within the city itself. Over time, most of the residents that lived in the surrounding area moved away, as the idea of having graves and catacombs as neighbors didn't appeal to them. The city blocks became home to the downtrodden and poverty-stricken, and can now be considered the slums of [[Ilmara]]. The area outside the cemetary is very unsafe, and it is rumored that there are areas that even the City Guard won't go in. Other rumors claim that the Thieves Guild maintains control over the Grave Quarter, though even they keep their hands off the cemetary itself.

''Adventure:'' [[The Quest for Owen]]\n\n''Dates:'' Summersdawn 23, 582 - Summersdawn 25, 582\n//April 20, 2007//\n\n!!Summary\n* After speaking with [[Dorn]] and [[Redlyn]], the party - now consisting of [[Slade]], [[Alurfaern]], [[Jhestasia]], [[Vandros]], and [[Drogg]] - traveled to [[Silvenbluff]] to speak with [[Owen Finnick]]'s daughter, [[Alvina Finnick]]. She informed the party that he had arrived in the village a few weeks ago, intending to begin a new life; unfortunately, he'd recently died of the pox. Upon learning this, the party expressed their condolences - [[Slade]] and [[Alurfaern]] especially.\n\n!!Notable Events\n* [[Slade]] and [[Jhestasia]] met [[Vandros]] while searching [[Owen Finnick]]'s warehouse for clues to his disappearance.\n\n* A silver box was found in the shrine below the warehouse. When opened, a Varghani man appeared in a mist from within it. [[Slade]] determined that he wasn't evil, so after questioning the confused man, the party let him leave.\n\n* [[Drogg]] happened to follow the confused man to the Temple of Baltur, whereupon he witnessed the man split apart on the temple steps, revealing four babau. News traveled fast, and [[Slade]], [[Jhestasia]], and [[Vandros]] came to join the fight. Toward the end, [[Alurfaern]] arrived as well.\n\n* After shopping for cold iron to repair [[Slade]]'s sword and a visit to the bathhouse, the party headed to [[The Nymph's Wood]] for dinner. Later [[Slade]] confronted [[Redlyn]] with the news that [[Wescott]] had betrayed the party and was a [[Black Talon]].\n\n* To prepare for the trip to [[Silvenbluff]], the party purchased mounts. [[Alurfaern]] bought an elephant, which caused much comment by pretty much everyone who saw it.\n\n* On the road, the party fought some giant wasps. Later, members and armsmen of two minor noble houses on a hunt of an unknown creature were encountered. One obtuse fellow wanted to purchase [[Alurfaern]]'s elephant.\n\n!!~NPCs Encountered\n* [[Dorn]]\n* [[Redlyn]]\n* [[Alvina Finnick]]\n\n!!Books Used (~Non-Core)\n* Spell Compedium

When [[Ilmara]] consisted of only four quarters, a natural meeting place evolved from the area where the quarters met, in the center of the city. As time went on, shops and inns emerged in the area, and it became a popular area for visitors to the city to congregate. Eventually, the area grew larger and began to take on its own "atmosphere". Nowadays, this area of the city consists of most of Ilmara's shops and businesses, as well as housing and meeting places for foreign delegates.

This region was originally known as the East Quarter, but over time, all the buildings and land here were bought up by the noble families that had established estates within the city proper. Eventually, the only people living here were twenty-four noble houses, and the nomenclature changed and stuck. The Noble Quarter is a very safe region, mainly due to the fact that each family maintains their own private guards, and these guards help patrol the area, insuring the safety of the inhabitants. However, these patrols also ensure that anyone who does not belong in the quarter (and discretion may vary wildly in each case) is quickly (and none too gently) escorted out of the area. It has even gotten to the point where the city's eastern gate has been dubbed the "Noble Gate", as few people other than the noble houses use it. The Prince and the High Council are not very pleased with this particular state of affairs, but given the power of the nobles (who are amazingly cooperative with one another when their collective interests are at stake), there is little they can do about it.
One of the original quarters of [[Ilmara]], the North Quarter is primarily residential, though it contains a few shops and inns. The inhabitants of this area generally can be classified as upper-middle to lower-upper class. This quarter is home to a great many craftsmen, artisans, musicians, sages, and similar people.
