Birthplace Tables

The tables below can be used for the determination of a character's place of birth (note there are separate tables for humans and non-humans). A location may be chosen from the list or rolled for randomly. Note that the general alignment of most locations is "unaligned". A superscript E (E) indicates a place where the inhabitants tend towards evil/chaotic evil while a G (G) signifies a tendency towards good/lawful good.

Consult the notes below the non-human table for races not listed there.

Below the two tables is a summary of the various class types and where they tend to be found.

Devas: All devas come from mysterious Syrhaat, far to the east.
Gnomes: All gnomes are expats from the Feywild.
Half-elves: Use either the Human table or the Sylvari table.
Half-orcs: Use the Human table.
Revenants: Use the table of the race the charcter was before their death.
Tauroks (minotaurs): Use the Human or Viss'takh table.

Classes

Martial
The martial classes (fighter, rogue, ranger, warlord) are the most common type of class in the cities and civilized areas of the world.

Arcane
Arcane characters almost always originate in the civilized realms, and Sp˙re in particular.

Divine
Divine characters generally come from the cities and civilized kingdoms. They are more numerous than their arcane counterparts.

Primal
The primal classes tend to be the only type found in the "barbarian lands" (including the lands of the Aesric, the Anselan Highlands, the Maru Jungles, the Varghani Desert, and the land of the Vykir). They can also be found in wilderlands near civilized territories (such as the forests of the Avellyn River Valley).

Psionic
Psionic characters are very rare; almost all of them originate from Ivenmir, though a very small number come from the larger city-states.

Shadow
The darker city-states are usually the birthplaces of those who derive power from the shadows.
