Black City of Wizardry

Ruined City of Magic
The Black City of Wizardry is a massive ruin found in the eastern Grey Waste, on the shores of the Thallosean Sea. It was once known as Kyrantheum and was the capital of the Marasinian Empire. During the Thaumaturgical Wars, Kyrantheum was destroyed in a magical cataclysm, the origin of which was lost with the city's inhabitants. Rival factions in the wars had constantly been battling for control of the city, so the most likely explanation is that a spell or ritual of one side went awry, or a faction outside the city decided to eliminate some of their enemies with a single blow. Whatever the case, Kyrantheum was reduced to a smoldering ruin of broken and blackened stone.

Though the dangers are great, some brave the Grey Waste to scour the ruins for items of value, most hoping to find some ancient, forgotten lore or artifact of the sorcerous empire.
