Bloodroot Trees

Bloodroot trees are a deciduous fauna found in central and southern Karnathas. They are similar in appearance to a buckthorn, but with rust-colored leaves. The bloodroot emits an aroma that has a hypnotic effect on animals and dull-witted creatures, drawing them to its trunk. The tree then entangles the mesmerized prey with its branches and roots, piercing its skin with its thorns and absorbing the blood as other trees absorb sunlight.

Bloodroot trees are only found deep in the thickest forests. The followers of Azakhar believe the trees to be sacred to his religion.
