Climate by Region

The tables linked to below list various details (by month) about the climatic regions found on this map.

Regions

The information in these tables is described below:

  • Month: Self-explanatory
  • Daytime/Nighttime: The second column, topped by a sun image, lists the time of the sunrise and the average daytime temperature for the month. The third column shows sunset time and the average nighttime temperature.
  • Sky Conditions: The remaining columns may used to determine the sky conditions on a d20 roll. The first column indicates clear skies, the second partly cloudy, the third is overcast, and the fourth is overcast or mostly cloudy with precipitation. The exact nature of the precipitation (rain, snow, etc.) and its duration is left to the GM.

A PDF with the climate information combined with the Mythosa calendar for each region can be found on the RPG Articles and Tools page.

Design Notes

The values in the tables aren't mean to be highly realistic; the sunrise and sunset times, for instance, would obviously change gradually from one month to the next, not abruptly as is the case here. The purpose of these tables is to help with a sense of immersion, to give players a general idea of what the climate is like in a particular area at a given time. If a more detailed and complex system is desired, it would have to be found elsewhere.
