The Dyad of Order is a divine grouping of the gods Aeryandris and Isa. In the closing days of the Divinity War, many gods consolidated their power to ensure their survival. Since Aeryandris and Isa had already become close during the war (and, according to the myths, gave life to Jhadara), wedding one another and formally merging their faiths was a natural outcome of their relationship.

The Dyad is fairly popular in the larger cities and towns of Karnathas and enjoys some popularity in Zarkhir and Atharys. Worshipers of the Dyad include merchants, craftsmen, sages, and scholars. There is also a growing following among the Runir, whose pantheon was devastated during the Divinity War (Aeryandris in particular has come to replace their fallen deity Halgrim).

Though it doesn't suffer from as much factionalism as the Dark Court, clerical doctrine in the Dyad is not universal (beyond basic fundamentals). The principle disagreements of the clergy focus on the application of law and the dissemination of knowledge. Concerning the former, some feel order should be administered with mercy, while others contend that a lack of resolute enforcement of the law undermines its effectiveness, leading to corruption and degradation of society. In regards to knowledge, some feel it should be hoarded and not left open for those outside the faith. Others believe that this smacks of Malloran secrecy and knowledge should be open to anyone. A third school of thought maintains that knowledge should be available to anyone - if they have the gold to pay for it.

The disagreements between the various temples and factions usually don't turn violent or deadly as they often do among the clerics of the Dark Court, but there is little love lost between some of the more extreme groups within the church. However, regardless of their individual philosophies, all the faithful of the Dyad dedicate their lives to the expansion of civilization, the preservation of knowledge, and the acquisition of wealth (though not necessarily in that order).

The gods of the Dyad are below:

Aeryandris (aka the Lawmaker, the Smith): Aeryandris is commonly depicted as a middle-aged, bearded man dressed either in a merchant's robes or the apparel of a craftsman. His portfolio includes trade, wealth, craftsmanship, labor, and the other elements that provide for civilized and orderly society.
Isa (aka the All-Knowing, Dame of Fate): Isa appears as a tall, slender woman in a grey robe and cloak. The upper half of her face is concealed by the shadows of her hood and she carries a large tome in her arms. She is less popular than her husband but it is still highly respected. Isa is the goddess of destiny, knowledge, and time.

Symbols and Associations: The colors gold, silver, blue, and grey; the number four; cattle, owls, ibises; cinnamon; diamonds, turquoise; oak and mahogany.

Holy Days: Wavedays are always holy for the church. Other holy times include the Festival of Law (Springsebb 12th, a day of thanksgiving for the gifts of the Dyad) and the Feast of Saint Larinus on Springsebb 23rd. On that day, priests record what the head of Larinus says while others hold grand feasts preceding long-term expeditions to recover ancient lore and knowledge. Springsebb 24th is considered the best day for such endeavors to be started.

Essence of the Faith: Thwart the efforts of those who would interfere with commerce in ways that discourage trade. Bring civilization to the wilderness and order to the lawless. There is no treasure of greater worth than that of knowledge not possessed. Diplomacy first, violent action second. There is no luck but what we make for ourselves. The needs of the community outweigh the needs of the individual.
