The Seven Cities of Bone are a collection of ruins in the western Varghani Desert. The cities were once in a lush river valley, situated on the banks of the mythical Tahaat River which was said to flow all the way to the Sea of Serpents. The six major Varghani tribes claim that these cities were where each of them originated centuries ago prior to the rise of the Khemsan Empire, possibly during the late First or early Second Age.

Today, the cities are necropolises for the Varghani tribes. Two of the tribes have become extinct over the years and no longer inter their dead in their cities, but four of the others remain and continue to do so. As for the remaining ruin, the Varghani tribesmen will simply say We do not speak of the Seventh City and will not address the subject further. Pressing them will at best result in silence, at worst violence.
