Silvermine Pass

The Silvermine Pass is an east-west pass which cuts across the northern Dragonstongue Mountains. It is regularly used by caravans traveling between Irongate and Stonehelm as traveling through the mountains is far less dangerous than circumventing them and going through or near the Grey Waste or Thornwood.

The pass got its name from the numerous silver mines found in that part of the Dragonstongue. Most of these mines were exhausted years ago, but there are a few that are still in operation. A garrison from Irongate maintains a stronghold at the highest point along the pass to provide protection to the miners and caravans.
