Steelcloth

Steelcloth is a unique textile that provides some of the protection and durability of steel while remaining light and flexible like wool or linen. It is not as effective as actual steel armor (such as chainmail) but provides quite a bit more protection and strength than regular cloth.

Steelcloth was originally produced in the Second Age by the Thalloseans. The secrets of its manufacture were lost during the Thallosean Civil War, but later rediscovered by craftsmen in Sindal during the Third Age. After the Thaumaturgical Wars, the fabrication techniques were lost again.
