Tauroks

Tauroks, or minotaurs, are a bestial humanoid race, being a combination of human and bull. They have the hooves, head, and tail of a bull but otherwise appear to be human.

The origin of the Tauroks is a matter of debate. Some sages contend that they were created by an unnamed demon lord during the First Age while others claim that Karnus crafted them for the Thallosean Empire in the Late Second Age. As Tauroks kept no written records of their history until the Late Third Age, they do not know their origins either. The latter story is the one that is generally accepted as the largest concentrations of Tauroks are found near the Thallosean Sea and most of the minotaurs who revere a great power honor Karnus.

Tauroks most often are encountered in a mercenary role and in civilized areas are most common in Essengard and Ulthia. There are also a few Tauroks among the prominent citizens of Crucible.
